Creative Storytelling Therapy

How storytelling is therapeutic!

The subconscious does not think in a linear fashion like our conscious mind. It thinks in symbols and symbolic meaning has the power to change beliefs. As children we are read non-fiction books, watch television shows and movies, and from these we make meaning and learn how it is to be in the world, what to be afraid of, what is good and what is bad. Our minds don't ever lose this ability to make meaning through story, which is why movies and streaming shows are so interesting to us. Just like the therapeutic qualities in this cup of tea, story in therapy is a very powerful tool to tap straight into the subconscious mind.

How storytelling therapy happens!

We first have a conversation to find out what you want, and what you like. That will give me enough information to develop a story, then it's as simple as shutting your eyes and following my voice. Keeping an open mind as the story washes over you. Putting aside your critical mind while the subconscious does the rest.

If you would like a conversation with me to ask any questions or book a session, send me a message and we will connect.
